Help Please
as some of you may know, when you grow up without much, and bust your hump without getting much further, you end up one of two ways of thinking.
1 - you try to screw anyone and everyone for every cent you can
2 - you feel bad asking folks for the price you think you should get for something, sorta like "who has the $$ for this?"
i ended up as a number 2
i have very often (actually MOST times) gotten phone calls/emails asking "are you sure you charged me enough?" for a stock or special request grips.
which brings me to the help request...
this is NOT for an actual stock, but an "art stock".
a half of a but stock (sawn lengthwise along the back) to be framed and hung like a painting !?
not sure how well off the guy is, but dont want to short myself, or scare him off either as just drawing this thing took nearly 4 hours, and the carving will probably be 50+ hours
so what are the thoughts on what sort of price should be on something like this?

Decided I am going to go with the 7.5" barrel over the 10.5" barrel for my revolver. This is going to be used for hunting(Deer, black bear and hogs) and maybe a little plinking at the range. I am not going to put a scope on it. Now I have two choice left to make. Caliber--.44 Mag or .45 Colt and revolver--Ruger Super Blackhawk, Ruger Vaquero, or Taurus Gaucho. Opinions and experiences would be appreciated.

I have been an active seller and buyer on this auction site for the past 3 years, with excellent feedback. I made an error judgement in dealing with one of the site's sellers outside the auction itself. I now am having a very difficult time in getting this person to repsond to me since he cashed my check. The users name was C3-Fastfire, he told me that he was an FFL. Ruger Super Blackhawk in .44mag. Makes it nice to be able to shoot .44 special (tamer load for plinking) Like I said before, I had the 10.5 bbl and it was a great shooter. 0 -

Or, get a .454 Casull and you can shoot .45 Colt in it. Or, get a .460 Ruger and you can shoot .454 Casull and .45 Colt in it. 0 -
lot depends on how much your wanting to spend
if I was not putting a scope on it and wanted to stay under the 500 range Id go with the ruger super blackhawk the 7.5 or 10.5 is a mater of choice I myslef would rather have the 7.5 but thats just me.

You choice of gun would depend on how they feel in your hand. There are a lot of people who do not like the feel of the single action grips, especially in hard-recoiling calibers.
Given your specified uses, then of your choices, the Blackhawk is really your only choice. The reason I say that is that it is the only one that has adjustable sights. The other two are fixed sight models (rear sight is just a slot in the top-strap). So, in order to make sure that you are hitting where you are aiming during hunting situations, you need to have adjustable sights. Unless of course you can remember that you need to aim 4" to the left and 6" high when that 10 pointer steps out at 50 yards.[;)]0 -
I have a couple of Blackhawks in .357 that I got from my dad. While not bad guns by any means I do not like the grip angle on the. I have a Bisley (sp) Vaquero in .44 mag that I bought and love. I can shoot tons of ammo through it and not have a sore hand. I did take a deer with it a few years ago. It happened to be the gun I had on me when I saw the deer. 0 -

Jon,.I recently purchased a Ruger Redhawk off GB for less than 425.00..w/scope mnt..look on here first..it has the 7.5" barrel and it is very well balanced gun I have shot both .44 mags and specials in it,..Lets put it this way I'm hunting whitetails with it next yr,..I only put Houge grips on it instead of the pachmeyers it came with,..at the distances you will use it I really believe you wont be able to tell the diff between 7.5 or 10" except it will be easier to pack around at 7.5"..here's mine..Loko..my .2 [8D]

Take another look at the .454. I love mine. I shoot 45 LC when plinking and .454 Core Bon when hunting. 0 -
I can't deal with the Bisley stance. I love the Blackhawk. This one was my Dad's. For some reason he named this gun, "Black Mariah". ??Who knows?? 0 -

Super Blackhawk in 44 mag. Then invest in a Hogue Monogrip.
I've got medium sized hands and they tame the beast even when I'm shooting full-house, 300-grain "Hog Stoppers"
THEN invest in reloading equipment so you can discover the full spectrum of fun that is a 44 mag.0 -
Thanks for the suggestions fellas, much appreciated. I am pretty sure I am going with the .44 Magnum, but not sure on weather I want the Super Blackhawk or Bisley. The purchase was going to have to wait a while, but I recieved a few giftcards and some money from some very generous family members for my birthday the other day. In other words, I can make the purchase anytime I would like now! I am going to go to the local Scheels(place I got the giftcards to) and handle both the revolvers tomorrow and we shall see where it goes from there.
