I love my shorthair!
I was invited on a canned pheasant hunt today and I'm thrilled to report my GSP put on a clinic! She is getting old but she sure is fun to hunt with. They released 8 birds for us and we come home with 14. Casey's (the GSP) points were solid, she worked all the cover, and was very responsive to voice commands. I think I only blew the whistle twice. It helps that I shot lights out too! (Shot back to back doubles!) Great day!

Great!!! I love hearing tales of people who use their dogs for the purpose they were bred to do. My American Cocker Spaniel is used for lap warming, driver's side wind block, and chasing monsters (bunnies in the yard.) I love to see a real hunter...and I know they love to do it also.

I was having so much fun I didn't take a single picture.[V] Even had the camera with me.[V]
We (me and the dog) used to go to Kansas 2 or 3 times a year but kids and job started getting in the way. I'm lucky to get her out at all anymore.0 -
The absolute best dog I ever owned was a German Shorthair named Fritz. He has the best nose, worked an open field like no ther, and would retrieve too. His father was a grand national champion, his mother a grand champion. I paid $2,200 for him, and never regreted it.
I miss Fritz!0
