    In the 70's I lived 2 blocks from there.
    It was a neighborhood of large,immaculately kept homes owned by older,mostly European folks, that were being slowly converted into rental units as they died off. The type of people who'd bring you baked goods,(never did get a count on the different ways to fix zucchini) and watch out for strangers in the neighborhood. Once saw an old man actually accost 3 black's, and tell them loudly in broken English "You no live here! Why you here? leave!" (they left) I kind of hated to move.
    Looks like it's went to Hades now.
