5.11 Boots rave

I just got a pair of "5.11" brand Police & Military tactical boots: Full grain leather, waterproof, side zip for quick on & off , hidden side pocket, non-metallic, warm drilex lining, oil & slip resistant and shock mitigation system. These are by far the most comfortable boots I've ever worn and the best $100 I've ever spent on footwear. They're perfect for Upstate New York snow and I'll be wearing them on my motorcycle when spring finally arrives! I just thought I'd share a great product with y'all. [:D]

    I've been on the same pair of Bates Ultra-Lites oil resistant safety toe side zip boots for just over a year now. Also very comfortable, and weigh about half what my last pair of waffle-stompers did. Every other pair of side-zip boots I've tried blew out the zipper inside of a week.

    They make those, too, but I didn't want those. The "Shield" model has a safety toe but it's a non-metallic composite material that they say is safer than steel. Mine are the "Storm" model.

    No, it's for fat azzes like me that can hardly bend over to lace them up and the wife ain't always around to do it for me, like she would anyway.[8D]

    Or when you're perpetually running five minutes late and the minute and ten seconds it takes to lace up yer boots makes a difference!

    I used to think zips were silly. First pair I bought that had zippers I bought just because they were on sale, but found it so convenient I was converted.

    I got a pair of tan ones when they were clearancing them. They are very comfortable boots. The fact that I got them for $29.95 just makes them better. I should have bought two pair when I had the chance.

    actually the zippers are designed for police and ems workers.

    i had a pair of 5.11 atacs. the third day i wore them, the velcro flap that covers the zipper fell off. the lining tore about two months later and they started to lead at around 6 months. while they arent the worst boots ive ever had, i will never buy 5.11's again.

    Man that is brutal. I am on my second pair in 3 years and they have held up great. The big reason I am on my second pair is that I used them riding on my ATV and banged them up pretty good. I still wear my old pair for doing dirty work and my newer pair for duty boots.

    I am very picky about my boots and this is one of the few boots I found that I really like. I have my real leather Wesco boots for wildland fires and such, but they do not make good duty boots.
