is astounding. We allow our govt. to steal our money and buy us off with it. We are not just greedy, we are extremely ignorant (albeit probably by choice) and extremely stupid. The prevailing attitude.....Heck with our kids! I want mine now! Before they give to someone else!

I dont think Americans are greedy. We give more to charity than almost every other country combined. Americans are a very compassionate and giving country. The government on the other hand is.......thievery.0 -
It is unfortunet, but the attitude is the problem. Some of the older guys in this forum probably remember in the 40's and 50's there weren't too many credit cards. Now days it's purchase now on credit and we might pay it later for most. I say the take the rebate stuff and fix social security with it. There is still a war we are in spending billions. What the hell are we doing getting rebate checks? Pay or debt, fix social securety, stop giving handouts to people who don't need it in the wellfare system and for cripes sake stop giving benefits to alliens whether legal or not. If I went to Sri Lanka, India, China, Russia or any other country to live as a resident allien to make money, they aren't going to be giving me handouts with money from their citizens. Its crazy. 0 -

jeffery boyd..you are correct...it is mind blowing that illegals get anything from tax payers except a prison cell and a one way ticket back where they come from!
for all the horrible unbelievable faults with my country there is one thing i will say, if you get caught employing an illegal, you are going to get some massive fines!..if you are here illegally and get caught, you are going to prison! and you are very unlikely to win your case to stay here ..about all you can look forward to is a free one way air ticket!
i do admit though that we are luckier than the u.s. in that we dont share a common border with any other country...if you want to get here you come by air or by boat!...it is a lot easier to just walk across a border where there is noone to stop you and not even a fence for you to climb over!
ive often thought that if i lived near the border there i would love to get some of those big exploding rifle targets and put them where they could be shot easily with a rifle with a silencer on it and let `em rip when the mex`s came strollin` by...just to see the look on their faces[:D] but then again, im like that...sometimes i get the [}:)] in me.0 -
This topic hits a nerve! I just had a conversation with my 12 year old (last night) about what his intentions for college are! Yes at 12 I'm pushing him! And I am very worried about his future. Questions race through my mind about making a choice to bring a child in this world, with very, very, tough odds against him. I am sorry, but my kid is all I think about............and, what I can do to help him succeed! 0 -
You have my sympathy Stub. I could see this coming in the '60s and determined then not to have kids. I do not regret that decision for a minute.
Unlike Jeffrey I do use a credit card (1). I pay it in full every month and it rebates 1%. Somethings you cannot do without a card. Try to rent a car for cssh.0 -
