Got my renewal paperwork last week. $90 I don't remember it being that high last time. Am I wrong? Seems like it was $50[?]

    Are they naturally stupid or do they work at it. I was at a dealers shop the other day and he was telling a person that he couldnt mail his rifle back to Ruger without going through him. He went on to say that a non-licensee (FFL) couldnt mail a long gun even within the state to another non-licensee. I went home and printed out the law in florida, and also the USC 18.922ABCD. His reply was he had just been updated with all the new dos and donts and all was outdated..His thing is he thinks Federal law supersedes all state laws. If this be the case, then why are not all CCW laws the same in every state..

    This is a real simple question, but the folks in GA are just too busy(40 minutes on hold today w/no answer)! Does an FFL number change, if my status is unchanged. I,m sure they were all busy making up some new literature for us to read.[:(!]

    I do not believe it changes unless you relocate your business at the same time you would have to renew the license...that is what we did when we relocated out west...and we had to get a new number.

    The 116 in my number changed to 231 for no apparent reason. 116 corresponds with my county's UCR number, but I don't know what 231 is.

    It changed one number the last time I renewed, and I'm assuming the new # will be different due to their book keeping? I didn't notice it the wife did. I think jbw hit it with the renewal thing, heck I don't know for sure. I was thinking the same thing you are though. Change in status....

    What's the reason to do this...other than to cause problems with FFL's log books. How can we be expected to keep track of each and every wholesaler's license that we deal with...Hell, we are not even required to keep a copy of their FFL on file anymore...how do we know when it changes with renewal??? I guess we should probably go back through our log books and look for mistakes...before the ATF flags us on it.

    I agree. I guess the license is just step one for us. All they have to do is push a button!

    the number that goes just before the letter changes to the year it expires. example 5h means 05 expire when renewed it changes to 8h.
