Good Trade..?
Got this "black gun" with 500 rds. of ammo for a ruger red label, never had an ar-15 type gun, is this a decent one? says bushmaster xm15-e2s on it. Dont know anything else about it except he said its never been shot.

I have the same model, and have not had ANY problems with it.
Mine does not have the collapsible stock, have thought about putting one on it.0 -

most likely the stock was made during the ban and is pinned , if you look at it you should see a roll pin going all the way thru the latch, you can take the pin out but i don't think it has the latch holes in it to work right as a collapsible stock0 -

If it doesn't, you could probably drill them yourself. It looks like it has a flash suppressor/muzzle break...so wouldn't it be a preban rifle???0 -

I dont think your barrel says 8 MP, i think it says B MP. My 16 inch Bushy Upper barrel says B MP, the B looks like an 8.0 -

Cartrod - Looks like you picked up another money pit. You can swap out the top ends with so many different configurations and "extras" you will soon go broke[:D]. Get rid of it now before you get a second job just to get gear for it. If you decide to keep her just get a CAR Stock, a flat top top end with barrel (length and type of your choice). What I've been told about Bushmaster is it's very good compared to likes of Oly-Arms. There was a saying that went with the reason (which eludes me just now).
I'd sell off the ammo and buy a colapsible stock like you want (then re-sell the old stock[:D]). Be kind and recycle.0 -

Why?
Steel case ammo is not good in the tighter tolerances of an AR and Barnaul is some of the dirtiest burning powder and combine the dirty powder with steel case and you will have problems with your Bushmaster operating right before that case is gone.
Some people like the cheap ammo and use it in their AR but from my experience it is not worth it.
Sell the ammo to someone who has a mini 14 and buy some good stuff to run through the AR.
If I had that ammo I would trade it off 2 for 1 if I could find someone willing to make a trade with quality ammo.
If that were my rifle I would sell that stock and put something else on it like a magpul or something.
You can convert the pinned "collapzable" so that it will work but it is not worth the trouble when people in California will pay you for the pinned stock what it will cost you for a real one.
It is legal in California to have the Pinned Collapsable stock but not a true collapsable.0
