I'll try my best but most of my rifles are either laminate or polymer.

This was a cheap gun ($170) at a gunshow that the stock had become "glued" to a guncase and made it look horrible. I sanded and refinished the stock and was happily surprised at the tiger striping it seems to have. It looks better and more pronounced in person. It is a Savage 840 and a bolt-action .30-.30. Shoots alot better than I do with open sights, someday it will hopefully get a scope.

I've been wanting to put it on one of my #1's and even though I've been cutting out stocks by hand for over 40 years I'm a little leary of messing this one up cause it's my last one out of that stump, other than a smaller chunk for a forearm to match............

I think that was directed at me because of the statement about being the last of it.
It was just the stump I dug out of the ground about 26 years ago, every thing below ground level was really nice. The complete tree sold for $8,000.00 in the late 80's as a veneer log, and it was as straight as a string for 50 foot.......
