Thanks to the generosity of some very kind folks on GunBroker, I was able to buy a new shootin' iron today.

I bought that Mossberg 500 12 Gauge, synthetic stock, with a 30" ribbed barrel and a 19" self defense barrel, that I talked about for the last couple of days. For $220 - NIB.

Shot it little today from the hip. It makes a load noise with both 3" Magnum 00 Buck and slugs. Lots of fire comes outof the shorter barell! I was able to hit the ground. I've got two torn rotator cuffs, so I won't be shoulder firing it until I get some sort of recoil reduction method.

    Congrats, Mossberg makes one of the best defense shotguns on the market. Safe Shooting!!

    Doug - You should check out the "reduced recoil" buckshot. I think Remington makes it. It is 2-3/4" 00 Buck.

    I don't know if you seen these, I have one on my Mossberg and the recoil reduction is astounding.

    Mark - there was some money left over after the bayonet, which went toward the shotgun.

    mond - do we need to bring our own .303 ammo and shotgun shells ??
