Shooting legally in Louisiana (DIVECOP?)

I am trying to find information regarding where I can legally shoot different guns.
I live on a piece of property that backs up to a swamp and due south there is nothing for several miles, just swamp, but to the east there are some houses.
I am trying to make sure I am legal, but I due not want any problems from adjoiners.
I'm trying to do some Google searching, but I have not had much luck.
Any Louisiana LEOs have any (DiveCop?) information?

    Rovrman, I can and do shoot where I live and nobody complains, but we have some folks that are coming on to the property I lease and I want to be sure of what I can legally do. I was squirrel hunting this evening and they were on their four wheelers trying to find me.
    I will have the entrance they are using posted up tomorrow while they are at work/school. Once it is posted I can run them off.
    BTW, where do you live?

    as much as I love the Alex and Elizabeth areas (Westbay) I am in SE Louisiana, NW corner of Lake Pontchartrain.

    That is why I mentioned DiveCop directly.
    I know a State Trooper and a Parish Deputy I can contact.

    I grew up in Metairie but built a house near the west pearl river in Slidell about 1 year before katrina........lost everything in katrina....now live in north east Alabama.

    Yes, it was about a mile from my parents house, I was in High School.
    I was sitting under a carport with a friend and we were waiting for it to stop raining. It was raining hard, with large drops.
    We heard the engines make a weird sound and an explosion, but at the time we did not know what it was, we thought it was thunder.
    When the rain stopped we heard the sirens and could see the smoke.
    It was a sad day, we did not know who was lost on the ground as I had many friends that lived in that area.
    One friend lived on the flight line, about 2000' from the point of impact. A little bit longer in the air and it would have been their house and he and his two brothers were home that summer day, watching it rain.
    I know a feller who lost his whole family, save one daughter that was a baby. A true miracle in my mind.
    I see her from time to time, she works with her father, and she has grown to be a beautiful young lady.

    I found out that it is 250' from any home or dwelling and 100' from any public road.

    I was fresh out of High School working for Hydril in Westwego, heard it and watched the flames and smoke into the night. Sad day, I should'nt have brought it up

    No harm, no foul.
    I guess that would make you about 45 years old.
    I was a sophomore in high school when it crashed.

    We lived in Slidell at that time and I was at our Engineering Facility in East New Orleans when the crash happened. You could see the smoke rising from where we were located, a very sad day.

    What did the NTSB ever come-up with, for a cause? What brought Flt.759 down?

    I thought it was wind shear; If I remember correctly there was severe weather in the area that day.

    Accident occurred Friday, July 09, 1982 in NEW ORLEANS, LA
    Probable Cause Approval Date: 7/9/1983
    Aircraft: BOEING 727-235, registration: N4737
    Injuries: 153 Fatal, 9 Serious, 7 Uninjured.

    THE ACFT, PAN AM FLT 759, WAS ON A SCHEDULED FLT FROM MIAMI, FL TO LAS VEGAS, NV, WITH AN EN ROUTE STOP AT NEW ORLEANS, LA. WITH AN ACFT GROSS WT OF APRX 170,000 LBS, THE CAPT WAS REQUIRED TO USE RWY 10 FOR TKOF. VIP LVL 3 WX ECHOS WERE LOCATED EAST OF THE RWY, BUT NO LIGHTNING OR THUNDER WAS EVIDENT. THERE WERE SHOWERS OVR THE EAST END OF THE RWY & THE WNDS WERE GSTY, VARIABLE & SWIRLING. AFTR TAKOF, THE ACFT CLIMBED TO APRX 95 TO 150 AGL, THEN BGN TO DESCEND. THE ACFT STRUCK TREES APRX 2376 FT BYD THE DEP END OF THE RWY, ABOUT 50 FT AGL, THEN CONTD ANOTHER 2234 FT, HITTING TREES & HOUSES. THE ACFT WAS DESTROYED BY IMPACT, EXPLOSION & FIRE. AN INVESTIGATION REVEALED THE ACFT HAD ENCTRD A DECREASING HDWND SHEAR CAUSED BY DIVERGING FLOW FROM A MICROBURST WHICH OCCURRED ON THE ARPT. THE WND SHEAR WAS NOT DETECTED BY THE LOW LVL WND SHEAR ALERT SYS TIL AFTER FLT 759 BGN ITS TKOF.

    Yes, it seems as though we all new someone who died that day.
    My wife and I went through there a few years ago and there were still a few lots that were not built back upon.

    I was a senior in high school, living in metairie, working in kenner for john bull pharmacy delivering perscriptions......horrible. I remember how bad/hard it was raining that evening. I remember how many police and fire trucks we heading toward the crash....I was about 1/2 mile away delivering and heard the entire thing. I could smell it, taste it....horrible.....the police made me leave.
    interesting thing is that right after I was married I bought a house south of west metairie about 2 blocks from the crash about 20 years ago. I lived there for 7 years hearing the planes flying over my house every day wondering.......what if again...but happening again in the same area.....nah. beside the house was cheap and I doubled my money when I sold it to move to slidell.
