Just bought a Springfield XD .45acp
I had a hard decision I could either buy it or several other guns I wanted but I actually needed another .45acp. Hope to take it out tomorrow and break it in. If it shoots near as well as the .40 S&W XD I have I will be happy. Anyone have hands on experience with the XD .45acp?

Yes and I love mine....... was carrying an S&W model 909, 9 mm which is a clean little piece and in fact I qualified with it with a score of 249 /250.
I wanted a badder (is that a word) knockdown weapon so I researched and went with a .45acp and decided on the XD for several reasons. The bottom line to your question is it shoots really good to me. I actually put these in a smaller circle than my 9 mm. I would like to get some trigger work done to get it more to my taste but not sure I can on this model, but I haven't asked so I happy with it now.

i had the XD45 and needed another 40.
went to the gun show sat bought a XD40 and also hoped it shot as well as the XD45 did.
went out sunday with the xd40 and it was great. NO FTF.[^]
i did have to move the site on the XD45 but the new 40 is STRIGHT on.
i have put all kinds of new and reloads in both and so far only 1 of my reloads (230 RNFP of all things)the xd45 did not like them. all my other 45s will eat them. i may have to crimp them some more for the xd45.
other then this both guns are great,I may even look for a XD9mm next TIME and i dont even care for a 9.[;)]0 -

I also love my XD 45....it will eat any ammo I put it in it and its a well balanced shooter.
I am thinking of buying the XD 9 just so I can have something to plink with since 45 ammo is pretty pricey.0 -

You can get an aftermarket conversion barrel for the .40-.357 conversion. I think pistolgear.com has 'em. same mags, too.

use my XD45 as my everyday carry gun. love it. eats anything, have never had one FTF or FTE in it. very accurate in the distances I would use for defense (10yds). 0 -
Well I bought mine about a year ago. Love the hammerless design and the double stack mag. So this year I bought a cz 75b 9mm. I bought the cz because of all of the fame and world wide use and would make a good addition to my collection. Took them both out to compare. The xd by far was the superior weapon in design and shoot ability. The xd 45 is a keeper!! 0 -
