How many Dremel tools have

you worn out?

I was using one of mine yesterday and it started to whine a little. Will check the brushes and clean it out.

Right now I am using my 7th. Dremel tool. Wore six out. Changed brushes, tried to keep them clean. Sent 5 back to Dremel through the years. The 5th. time, they wanted near regular price to replace it, so I just bought a new one at a store. The sixth one hit the trash can after I took usable parts from it.
They are not used for business, just all around shop stuff.

    I have one but don't use it much. I used pneumatic die grinders instead. More RPM's, more power, longer wear, and better control.

    I've worn out several myself, I'm now useing a Black & Decker tool and so far I like it better, but I've only had it a few months so time will tell if it holds up any better

    I know Cartod wont believe this But I have never even owned a dremel.
    I am like Dheffley and use a Die grinder.
    I have some real wild looking cutters I have made up.

    I can chew through wood and Aluminum like a chainsaw

    Over the past ten years, probably a dozen, but I keep six in reserve, and whenever I can find a good one at a yard sale or flea mkt, I buy it.. That way I always have one when I need it and that is almost daily..[:D]

    Get a Foredom tool. Will outlast a dozen Dremels.

    I've found their cutting blade to be effective at cutting through locks when all else fails.

    I've worn out a couple in years past, but have discovered the secret to Dremel longevity. The tool has high speed but little torque. I quit forcing it and just let it do it's thing normally. I've had my current one for six years and use it quite offten for a variety of task.

    None. I have three, and they are all still working. One of the flex shafts is getting a bit worn.

    Danny, Try using a Die Grinder on pocket knife pins..Or small gun parts like a Firing pin...[:D] Ya dont use a Dremel for Body and Fender work..[8D]

    Had one for 15 years finally quit bought a new ryobi in a kit has all the extra's even a flex shaft for 50.oo bucks at the home depot.

    You haven't seen the little ones, have you. 110,000 RPM and the size of a Marks-A-Lot.

    I've got them in all sizes and all speeds. Picking the right one for the job is the key.
