Safe Humidity Question???

Does anyone know what should be the optimal humidity for a gun safe? Is there any difference of what humidity should be between a gun safe and a safe which has paper and coins inside? My safe usually is at 54% constant with a dryer. Thanks

  mine runs closer to 40-45.

  Wild guess....I'd shoot for 35%. I figure that wouldn't dehydrate the stocks and wouldn't hydrate the barrels.

  Well, I live in a region of the US where we really don't worry too much about fire-arms rusting or pitting (can handle and not wipe down....can shoot and not clean for months....all without harm), and ambient humidity here is usually close to 35%.

  I keep my gun room at 45%

  I have a Browning safe that takes two Golden rods to keep the guns rust free. I have a Gun Vault that is much larger that does fine with one. I am going to start waxing my guns anyway since most don't get shot much.
