I missed something I guess

I got a nice HK sub-caliber kit for the 91 series 308 rifle, but I didn't really want to put it in my PS9T. Somehow that just doesn't seem right to me. So I was looking for a normal HK91 and everyone wants a couple grand or more for them. Maybe the years are truly going by fast but it seems like only a year or so ago they were $1500. Have they really gone up that high that fast? For a couple grand you'd expect a gun to atleast have some historical significance.
