Bought a Diamond Recently? Possibly get money back

Looks like De Beers is in the middle of a class action lawsuit for running a monopoly. If you bought a diamond between January 1, 1994 and March 31, 2006, you can file at the link below. Heck it's worth a shot. With the amount of guns I had to sell to buy my (now) wife's rock, maybe I'll get some money back to up the collection again. [:D] Anyway, the form is online and it only takes a few mins to fill it out.

    To sue a monopoly is one thing, and to sue for slipping on ice in a parking lot outside a supermarket is another. [;)]

    I'll file a claim - we have about $7k in diamonds in that period. I'll let you know how much I get. Hopefully enough for a soda!

    Once the true size and scope of the South African diamond mines were understood, it became imperative to form a cartel or better yet a syndicate of diamond producers, distributors and wholesalers to limit the yearly flow of stones onto the market. The once rare diamond is actually not so rare after all and without DeBeers etal controlling availability to the jewelery markets even the peasants would be wearing a couple of carats. Now that just wouldn't be right.

    Yup, not rare. They do make awesome concrete saw blades. Buy CZ, looks just as good, for an acceptable price. Probably actually worth more than a diamond anyway.

    I'll try to file next weeks but right now I'm busy working on my law suit agaisnt OPEC for price manipulation of crude oil and can't bother with diamonds.

    We are in 3 class action suits right now. Two others are over, we won both. Out of hundreds millons of dollars we got a credit voucher for $14 on a $4.00 item. The lawyers got many, many, many, many, etc. $millions. It seems if you are identified, you are in them. We just throw the papers away. The voucher went with the rest of the papers in the burn barrel. Most people have no real loss, just like us. The lawyers just use these as an excuse to make money for them and not anyone else.

    In all honesty a diamond is a near worthless rock. No more valuable than quartz. The real rare stones are quality rubies, emeralds and tanzanites. All three of them are nearly gone.

    I enjoy buying jewelry for my wife. She loves the stuff. A large clear, well cut diamond is a beautiful thing no matter how rare or common. I buy the stones wholesale and have a fellow make her jewelry in what ever design he and I come up with. Emeralds are generally way more costly than diamonds if you can find a somewhat clear one. They are notoriously cloudy by nature. I snatch up every clear one I find over a half carat for future projects. Blood rubies of any size are very hard to come by. I have been searching for years to find enough to make a decent ruby bracelet. I figure if anything happens to me and the insurance runs out, she can sell off some stones. Otherwise she will have some nice stuff to pass on to our daughters one day.

    Remember the Fedex class action suit? $ 100s of millions to the class lawyers, one free package shipment to the plaintiffs. (I always thought the lawyers should have been paid like the plaintiffs, $100s of millions in free shipment vouchers.)

    Don't pass this around too much, it will reduce the amount awarded![:D]
    Looks like the maximum you can get under the best of circumstances is a bit over 600 bucks.
    Might get enough to buy some jewelry cleaner with![:0][;)]

    I just love it when someone..anyone says I'm right about something. My wife said it twice in 22 years. I have the dates written down somewhere.
