What the heck is up......can stress do this!!!!

I am at a total loss when it comes to figuring this one out....

Its an icky patch of yuck on the top of my head!!!! About the size of my hand....at the top of my head. It happened about a month ago. I thought I had gotten something on my hair and I had a VERY hard time getting rid of it (finally used dishwashing liquid to get it out.)

I thought it was a "fluke" of some kind....but now its back!!!! I'm super stressed these days. Someone said it could be nerves, but I've been stressed before and NEVER has this happened.

Its like I put way too much gel on my hair....or cooking oil (ewwww!)

    I would try washing your hair with listerene.

    You are rushing thru your shower...not rinsing your hair enough after shampooing.

    stress can do alot of things to a person, including throwing the sebaceous glands (oil secreters) into high gear. take a deep breath, wash your hair and just take it mello, then see what happens.

    2 words. 1)EXIMA. 2) PSORAISUS. I dunno if i spelled it right, but,,, has it shown-up anywhere else? I had a "condition" years ago called "Tina versacolor".It was like light freckles, on my SUPER dark suntan.
    I put some kind of dandruff shampoo on it, every night , for 2 months.
    POOP, i can't remember the name of the shampoo.IT WORKED!

    I know.....ewwwww! It isn't something so bad that anyone can just look at and SEE it. I am the only one that knows it is happening. I have never been more confused. I actually thought someone put something in my hair as a joke.

    It sure sounds like Psoriasis to me, it's worse in Winter time and when you're stressed. Your Doctor can prescibe a shampoo that will help.

    I think psoriasis will form in more than one area if that's what it is.
    It maybe dandruff. Is it bloody at all?

    You should never wash your hair with dishwashing liquid. I will dry out the natural oils in your hair. You should also brush your hair offen to spread the natural oils.

    Try using Neutrogena tar shampoo once or twice a week. It's a bit pricey, like $7 a bottle, but it works.
    Mike gets that once in a while. Looks almost like an adult version of cradle cap, pretty gross. Could be stress related, maybe not.
    In any case, this stuff seems to clear it up.

    i had a spot on the palm of my hand, and after going to many doctors of all trade it was determined i had psoriasis. the doctors said it seemed odd that i only had it in one place

    yes you may be stressed i get somthing like that on my hands from time to time went to doc many times found out it is stressed related??got some kinda cream to take care of it..

    I was thinking it sounds like an adult cradle cap of sorts, and this is what comes up..Bout half way down for the scalp..

    Send me a pic. I worked in dermatology for 3 years before coming back to family medicine. dought it would be psoriasis, possible ezcema, or seborrheic dermatits (adult version of cradel cap). I love gross skin pictures.
