Drop the "S" out of their emblem?

It was as earlier posted in 2007. Sometime near the end of the year.

WHY? You got me there. I for one think it was stupid on their part.

S stood for Sturm, Alexander Sturm actually who was the financial backer for Bill Ruger to start the company. He was essentially a silent partner but if it were not for him there probably wouldn't be a company.

All of the companies firearms were already known as Rugers.

Removing the S must cost the company money to redo all the dies, and graphics, web design etc... What are they really gaining??

Also it pisses off good Sturm Ruger fans such as I.

FWIW. There are No longer any of the Ruger family stockholders.

Ruger is no longer Strum, Ruger, and Company, Inc. That is why the S was dropped in late 07.

They probably dropped it as soon as they were able to do so legally.
