Just as I've said, the cries for ending the War in Iraq are as hollow now as they were during Vietnam; using money as an excuse to cut and run and dismiss the sacrifices of our troops in order to change the way we are perceived by the rest of the world is hypocritical at best, and treasonous by nature.
I'm no fan of illegal aliens invading our country, but those of you who haven't noticed a huge growth in taco stands, home burglaries, sex assaults, kidnappings, foreign language radio stations, property taxes and Hispanic-surnamed candidates need to open your eyes and maybe voice your opinions.
Seems to me that the US could actually afford to cover the medical and dental and vision costs for each legal citizen if we were to simply get rid of anyone who has not been naturalized, granted visa status, or allowed legally into our country.
I'm not advocating any sort of Socialized Medicine; just estimating that for the amount wasted on illegals and slackers and visa runners that we could go to the Dr. of our choice, get stuff done, and have the Dr. submit the bill to the Health Payments Dept., and we're good to go: no tax raises, no ridiculously high cost from Dr. to payer, no bill for patient, more and better access for every citizen, less stress/fewer patients for Drs.
After we fix that, education should be a priority-everybody learns to read, everybody takes a few math classes, everybody gets a few classes on American History, we discuss the reasons we became a country, and talk about why we need an informed and active populace to continue this Greatest Experiment on Earth.
Then I'd have to take a day off.0 -

After all, it becomes a self-replicating cycle to put men and women in harm's way and then justify a continuation of said policy when they get hurt.
And at this point Iraq satisfies nothing but the hubris of politicians who don't want to lose a war and the cheerleaders who seem quite content being brave back home.0
