They sure do bring'em out of the woodwork. You have people who just sign up for giveaways, and people who never participate in anyway with this board until there is a giveaway.
I won't say any names but you can click the name of some of the posters, and the only posts they make are in giveaways. Shame on you people! Participate with the rest of us, not just to get "free" stuff.

I am new here and I have noticed a number of members having giveaways when they reach a certain number of posts. Could you please explain to me when, (i.e. which # posts), and how, and what do you giveaway. THANKS 0 -
Are y'all still doing the giveaways ? I was looking for some stuff as I was rounding stuff up and remembered I had given some of it away. It took me a while to remember what happened to my Moosburg slugster bbl [:)]

Why do people enter the giveaways and then never check back to see if they won??? This is the second one in a row where this has happened. I'm beginning to think they are more trouble then they are worth. 0 -

I've been fortunate enough to win twice now on giveaways; a 1270 stock and forend from 4 Wheeler, and a code reader from Barto. Thanks, Danny and Gary --- both items meant very much to me, and I truly appreciate them. I am looking for something special to giveaway here, too --- and will post it soon.

I've noticed giveaways from members as they reach different numbers of posts. Being new, could someone please bring me up to speed on this tradition. Do all members perticipate, and how do you decide on a winner. Also, what items are appropriate to give as a prize.

YOU can give something away any time you feel the need to do so. A few years back a well respected former member, who had made a few smaller give aways (holster, old shotgun barrels, books ect.) decided to give away a fully functional M-1 Garand [:0]. After the first wave of 100 folks swarmed the boards he attempted to make a few rules to keep things fair and regretted it! When I went over to pick up my M-1 rifle at Mark's home late last year I asked him about that now infamous M1 giveaway and he just shook his head. Be careful what you give away, unless you have enough for everyone! 0 -

You don't have to, however, may choose to do so at any time as a token of appreciation towards the fine ladies and gentlemen at GB which may listen with empathy to your drivel deep concerns, and at the same time, not take you at all very seriously.
That being said, you may set your own rules.

not quite that bad here all though winter of 96/97 about an 1/8 of the people in town died...old people that is...we had over ten ft of snow that winter they couldn't bury them till spring.....hell they had them stuffed in storage buildings that winter.0 -

Giveaways happen when the Spirit moves you.
They usually occur at some significant number of posts, but don't have to.
Also, there are a bunch of people here who are having hard times - no expectation of a giveaway.
