The advantage is you won't have a hard time finding it if you accidentally drop it.
Another advantage is that when you pull it out, you'll get an extra few seconds to aim and fire while your attacker is standing there laughing.
Disadvantage, of course is that guns that look like toys are a particularly stupid idea because not only do they give up any visual deterrent, but they are attractive to children or grown-ups who won't necessarily know the difference between the gun and a toy.0 -

The infamous Warner "Infallible". Built for military contract, but didn't make the grade. Blow back design with a round bolt. I will eventually own the other version. Warner produced a blow forward design later.0 -
