And getting a bill from Columbia Hospital of West Palm Beach.Well.... Today i receive a SECOND bill, for "Dr.Services".To the tune of another $771.For a total of $1,600.00!![B)] FOR 9, count'em 9 stinking stitches!! Well,,,, i sure hope that bill is negotiable, cuz, i ain't payin it! The "Dr." that stitched me up wasn't even a Dr. He was a "STUDENT", and told me so.(had another"Dr." coming by about every 20 min. to see how he was doing)I thought the original $900 was a bit STEEP, now it's $1600?....I don't think so...

Was short arming a long handled 4 pound hammer in April '06. Missed the workpiece and curshed my left index finger on the workpiece... nurse said it popped like a grape. Had 8 stitches and after the blood blister dried out and peeled off there should have been a couple of more there. Went to my doctor's group emergency clinic for treatment. Haven't gotten a bill yet. I was told by an older, wiser person than i, many years ago that, and i quote.
"As long as you are making an effort to pay a creditor, no matter how small the payment,(within reason)And can proove you have been paying, you, or your credit rating cannot be legaly harmed".
I hope it's true, because i'm only gonna send them $50 each,Per Month, until it's paid-off.

this is the main reason i go to the medics only in extreme cases, or am un-consious that someone else drags me in.
one set of stitches was done on the trail with 2 lb mono, useing a flame sterilized fly hook for a needle, just mashed the eye tight on the end of the mono and went at it.
somehow forgot the usual first aid kit i usually have in the pack (with suture) and had laid open about a 3" gash over the knuckle so we spent a coule min checking out exactly how that joint works through the opening between mopping blood out of the way so we could see0 -

That's it... no major deal, but that it was to the bone.
I know, i shoullda RAMBOW'D it .But i thought i needed Pro. help. I now know that to be a bad move.(unless fully insured)

They will take my $50 each, per month, or, i will NOT PAY AT ALL...FUGGUM!!
BTW: Did i mention, that i was prescribed NOTHING for the pain? No, not even a friggin Tylanol!![:(!]0 -

Call the Doctors office and discuss write off and see how they take that. Good cut, but they are using a chemical very close to Super Glue without the effects of possibly poisioning your self. I have used tape, duct tape and cloth. Those were pretty clean cuts though. I prefer to quickly draw in breath, thinking"this is really going to hurt" than to saw through my fingers with a dull knife. 0 -
