Does your wife/significant other get mad
when you buy a new gun. I have been real good over the past decade YES I SAID DECADE!. I havent bought a weapon until last week for 10 friggin years and my wife acted like I had molested a child. It was not a money issue as we have over 20K in savings, it was not an expensive weapon as total cost was $317.oo including the state taxes. I love my wife with all my heart, but sometimes they can be unrealistic I think. I have wanted to purchase a 1911 to replace the one I sold 7 years ago like a moron but havent yet. Seems the more you show restraint on things like that, when you do purchase something, they have a demonic temper tantrum. I guess I should have told her first huh[;)]

Never bought a gun my bride of 26++ years did not know about. I have a buddy that buys them all the time without his wife's knowledge. She is always angry at him for doing this, mainly because he blows a high percentage of their family's income on his hobby and the rest of the family gets the short end of the stick and struggles most of the time. 0 -
As long as I use from my account and not the joint account I can buy whatever I want when I want.[:D]
She does the same with her account.
Lately it has been some ammo when I find a decent price or loading components.0 -
Things are different for each couple....you have to do what you have to do in a relationship. We have an odd set-up with us. I am the gun person here.....I keep bringing piles and piles home (that are meant to sell) and he knows he can keep anything he wants to out of whatever I bring in. He pays ALL of our bills. I give him whatever money he wants out of what I have....but I pay all of the strangeness that comes along....car repair, tires, lunch money, school expenses, medical, clothing. If it isn't a monthly bill that is mailed to our address I pay it. Its not anything we arranged. It just works out this way. I have money in savings and a credit card that I try to keep paid off....and the same goes for him. We don't ask if we want anything...but our idea of a major expense is something that would add to the monthly expenses....like a car or major home related item. We are both in this together and without any planning we both treat our finances with respect of our situation. 0 -

the love of my life now actually tries to get me to buy guns!!....go figure that one out!!id do it too if i could get over the fact that id have to wait 28 days for the cops to decide if they will allow me to have it!!!...and the fact it would have to be registered!!!...it sux big time here!!....but when i qualify to own pistols im gonna splurge...in a few monthe they will let me get 2...after ive had the licence for 12 months....look out ...theres at least 6 more i`ll be geting in one hit!!..and hang the cost..when i decide to buy, money dont matter.0 -
Wives rarely get the guns in divorce proceedings. Buying them is like preserving your assets "just in case". 0 -
Come hang around the court building where I work....I watch a ton of guys end up selling their guns or coming up with a bunch of money

I never hide a purchase from my wife, we always discuss it. Usually it is myself who will say it is not a good investment. My wife will generally say, "If it is reasonable and it will hold its value or appreciate, why don't you buy it?" But, to her credit she came from a family that never balked at a firearm purchase. Her father has so many firearms, he has to store them in three houses. And women generally marry someone like their father. 0 -

I always show her the newest toys.
But then, I don't wait 10 years between new ones.

She never questions how I spend my "pocket money" I never question how she spends hers.
Guess it boils down to what one considers....pocket money.

when you buy a gun purchase a major appliance or it's equivalent +-, and no not a big screen tv for yourself ether, it works every time, i bought a wilson combat and a 300 dollar dishwasher, all was peaceful, i bought a g34 she got a new 10x12 oriental rug, i bought a Dillon 550, she got another rug, since then we each get a weekly allowance, i save mine she spends hers, i can now buy what ever i want and don't hear a word

Dont tell her! just quietly save up your cash on the side and then sneak it in the house....period! I have found that if you make her aware of the purchase or even worse "ask her opinion" before a purchase it will be THE REASON for any kind of financial trouble in the future even a minor one. say nothing! loose lips sink ships! 0
