DOD contractor gets fined

Finally someone in DOD is slamming AKAL, the muslim-hindu cult in Espanola, New Mexico that has security contracts for our countries military:

    That is OK, it's only the SECURITY of MILITARY bases, we are talking about.

    There's a hindu muslim cult in Espanola NM? News to me. I go down there to gamble on a semi-regular basis, and never see a hindu or muslim.

    All of DoD is privatizing its security at the installations entry points. There are restrictions of course...

    1. They do not guard or have access to Level 1 or Level 2 Priority Assets; ie they do not guard aircraft or nuclear weapons, that is still done by the military (at least in the AF)

    2. They do not have access to the Command Posts or other classified C3I (Command, Control, Communication and Intel) areas on the post.

    The reason that we are outsourcing this is Iraq and Afghanistan. Our military (MPs, SFS and SP) are on constant rotation into the combat zones and it would impact the ability to secure the installations during the deployments if say 50-60% of your force is deployed.

    Most people do not realize that until 9-11, many Army posts didnt even have gates or fences...they were open posts. The AF just had to beef up their security measures a bit is all (at a large dollar amount).

    They also had the Federal Protection Service contract at one time and lost it. My brother is a FPS Sgt. and told me all about it.
