Anyone watching Barrett-Jackson?

Barrett-Jackson collector car auction is on SPEED channel every night through Sunday. They are just getting warmed up with most of the cars selling for below 100K. Come the weekend that will be the opening bid for some of the cars.

    Some of those cars really are not that expensive when you stop and look at what you are buying. Just a few minute ago a beautiful blue 1971 Torino fast back with a 429 Cobra Jet and 4 speed went for $100K. Accoring to the announcers only about 200 Torinos like this were ever produced and the example on auction looked like new. My own Mercedes S-550 cost about close to that with a few AMG extras added on. There is no shortage of MB S-550s (you could find 1000 black ones just like mine), but finding a car like that Torino (if you really wanted one) would be tough to do and you are assured that unlike my MB, you won't find another Torino like it parked next to you at the country club.

    What I like about you is you have it and don't flaunt it. (here).

    Instead of posting about all the cars you just bought and how you're going to buy more -- then the next post is whining about something that "happened" to you......you know what I mean.

    I currently own 8 cars, and all except 2 are 600 HP or above.
    While they may not have the "collectible value" of some, they will blow the doors off most production cars in the 1/4 mile.
