benelli
My wife just gave me a benelli super black eagle II for our ann. and christmas present. What a wonderful wife I have. I was wondering what the difference was between the super black eagle and the super black eagle II and will the barrels interchange because I would like to find a slug barrel for it. It came with a 24 in. vent. rib barrel and I bought a extra full chock for turkey hunting. Does anybody know the difference and will they interchange?

I have a friend that wants one as a hunting gun but is not sure which semi auto model he wants.

I'm really happy with the Benelli Super Black Eagle (First generation), 12 gauge 3.5" semiauto.
It is however built for huntingloads and does take huntingloads to cycke - but if you will be using it for sport - you can get a "reduced recoil"-spring, which cost about 15$ - and about 3 minutes to change.
Then you can use light trap/skeet loads also.0 -
What is your friend going to be hunting? That will tell us the best gun for him, here are a few examples:
Dove, Quail, Grouse: M-2, Cordoba or Supersport in 20 Ga
Duck, Phesant, Rabbit: M-2 or Ultralight in 12 Gauge
Goose, Turkey: SBE II

Don't have one. At one time I thought I would like to have one. Recently two of my hunting buddies each bought a 12 gauge auto 3 1/2 inch.... I don't know the model but they're both camo with a grass pattern. One consistently misfired - it went back to Stoeger and the firing pin spring was replaced - seems to be OK now. The other one jams about 3 out of 5 times - it is also going back to Stoeger - time will tell. This has discouraged me. My Browning Gold 3 1/2 has never failed me regardless of what load I'm using. 0 -
I have an M2 I bought about 2 years ago. It's a great gun. I use it for trap, sporties, and phesant hunting. 0 -
I have a Super Black Eagle (first generation), and when the youngest will let me shoot it, it works very well. It will cycle everything from 1 oz. target loads up to the 3 1/2 inch shoulder killers. 0 -
I have two currently. One M190 24" barrel and an identical M190 Slug version with 24" barrel and Burris 4x scope. Both have been 100% reliable. The field barrel M1 I have owned since 1999 and it has thousands upon thousands of rounds through her. I use it for everything. It has been dropped in the mud, snow, dirt, etc and keeps on going "bang" every time I pull the trigger.
You can't go wrong with one. It will last a lifetime.0 -
I was trying to save a little money when the 3 1/2" 12ga. first came out. I bought a Charles Daly Maxi-Mag. What a piece of junk that was. It shot great for about a dozen shot's, then became a single shot. It wouldn't cycle a new round (shooting heavy 3 1/2 inchers mind you), sent it back to CD, they "fixed it". Good for another dozen - dozen and a half rounds, then same problem all over again. So I sent it back a second time and it was "fixed" again. This time I didn't even fire it when I got it back, took it right down to my local Benelli dealer (who I had to beg and plead with to take, he didn't want that piece of junk either) and bought a SBE. That was the best choice I ever made. I love them guns! They just won't quit! As a matter of fact, when the SBEII came out, I traded my origional SBE in on the II. The redesigned trigger guard was what sold me on that, the extra room for a gloved hand is really nice. I guess it's true what they say, you get what you pay for. 0 -
for under 5 bills in my area i would try the stogger if money is no object a black eagle. i been told the stoggers are just imported they are acitally made in turkey 0 -
I have 5 Benelli shotguns. 3 M1 Super 90's, one Legacy, and one Super Black Eagle in camo.
They are all excellent guns. Reliable, fast cycling, accurate. I use the Super 90's for 3-gun competition, and the SBE for upland birds and waterfowl.
Your friend will not be dissappointed if he gets one.0
