Am I just paranoid, or..

Is there a hidden agenda for sending in warrenty cards and rebate forms? I was also looking at the rebate form on the S&W sigma I just bought and they want bunches of info. What are they doing with this info? I guess I'm not getting the rebate cause I'm not sending it in.

    Companies count on you not getting the rebate.
    The rebate processors guaranty they will reject a certain percentage of forms.
    As for what they are doing with the information.
    I would imagine they are selling it or using it for their own marketing.
    I never send warranty forms.
    They win we loose.

    I would have to say yes on that, If its like cars,,,used cars..You buy an 05,06,07,08 and a few weeks later you get that letter saying buy a warranty for a fraction of what the dealer said. UMMMM...noooooooooo...dont do it..they wont cover an oilpan leak let alone a major problem..i think its a scam[;)]

    They sure dont keep it as a proof of purchase, my guess is marketing and selling your info.
