Concealed Carry in Kentucky State Parks?

Anyone know if its legal?

I'm pretty sure I'd be fine, just thought someone might know off hand

    Didn't see anything on this website about CCW. I know that Indiana just made it legal to carry in their state parks which makes me a happy (and armed) camper.

    On Campground regulations #17, it states that firearms are prohibited.

    But I won't be in a campground

    I was just in the Inn at KY Dam Village. Nothing posted at the entrances about carrying being prohibited. If you don't tell anyone, no one will know.

    Yes. Quite legal. Just can't take them into a courtroom, school, post office, or the legislative chambers (while in session).

    Campground rule #17, No alcohol allowed in SP campgrounds. I've broken that rule a gazzilion times. Didn't know it was illegal until now. I guess I won't go back.

    Not allowed in Pa State Parks either[xx(] but it never stopped me. Some our parks have alot of bear in them, we had atleast 3 attacks that I know of last year. We also have scumbags, Last year we had many police show up at the site across the road from us because they were looking for a drunk minor that wandered into someone elses site, started crap and threatened to return with his "9". By the way we weren't even in the family area we were in the youth group sites.[:0]

    If your sleeping there it becomes your temp home, I would want to protect it and yourself!

    I usually take a little friend along when I'm camping with my family....too many drunks running around.

    Came close to shooting one once.....Not a pleasant thought

    This question was brought up recently with a group that I go to Lake Cumberland with. In researching this it appears that it is leagal in the park but not on the lake, due to the lake is under the control of the corp of engineers.

    I actually do not give a $#!+ what the law says. Let the state turn me into a criminal. I am always armed when I'm traveling. I'd rather be a live criminal than a dead victim.

    Just up the road is a state beach that has camping and riding trails. I know that thugs and "homeless" people frequent the area, both during peak season and off season, to steal, rape, assault, start fights and vandalize facilities.

    Couple that with the state's proposal to "shut down" many state parks, including the one I just mentioned, (what that really means is that there are no rangers, workers, etc. servicing the parks; they can't actually deny public access), so yeah.....I go into those places armed. legal or not.

    Not sure about all the regulations as are controled by more than one agency.
    One solution would be just drop them off at my house when you get to Ky.
    Then you would only have two problems,
    1 Your safty
    2 getting them back

    Unless the area is marked No Concealed carry I think it is legal

    On New Years day a college girl went hiking with her dog in Vogel State Park in north Georgia.
    She was kidnapped off the trail by a 61 year old guy. He drove her around north Georgia for 3 days in his van and finally killed her and beheaded her.
    He is prime suspect in the killing of a RN who was hiking in a National Forest in north Florida, and he is about to be indicted in a case here in North Carolina from October. An elderly couple was hiking in the National Forest near Brevard and they never made it home. The woman's body was found near her van, the husband has never been found.

    There is some bad stuff going on out there in the parks, be a good place to have a gun.
