Wild Okie bout buys farm

I started cleaning on the ice storm mess this weekend. I'm trying to top out this tree before dropping it. Taking out this big limb with my gas powered pole saw .I figured the limb would fall to the other side due to weight distribution. WRONG

It twisted and came down on top of me. For a fifty year old man I can still run like H-E double hockey sticks . Problem is I had the latter leaning against the tree hitting my head a almost knocking myself out. I also twisted my back and neck. The end of this limb is where I was standing.

    My sister in law lives in Broker Arrow. Sez there's still a bunch of clean up going on.

    My father had a 10 inch or so tree split down the center will cutting it down. It bounced back the wrong way. Just about killed him. Got to be really careful and always have someone else there. If he was cutting alone that day I grow up fatherless.

    Even a small limb falling from 30 ft. is enough to disable. You were lucky. Always plan your escape path. I had a co-worker lost his foot from a tree jumping the stump about 15 yrs ago.

    I'm glad all you got was a knot on your head. It could have been much worse. Be very careful when you go after the other ones. Stay safe.

    I whacked a 100 foot pine tree this summer with my Stihl 039, and the tree almost killed me! In the hospital for a week.
    Logging is rated as the third most dangerous profession in America, and I know why.
