The question is asked "Why is Chinese President Hu playing up to American businessmen while his country's policy has consistently been to ignore trade balance agreements, currency embalances and human rights, making promises to the Administration, to Congressional committees, and to U.N. delegations and then disregarding them without compunction.

The answer is because it works. It works to get the Chinese what they want because many American businesses are choosing profit over principle. They see the picture of that huge market making them billions of dollars, and without flinching, they are selling America down the river. It's enough to make you sick.

    It seems you keep hearing about companies outsourcing work to other companies. [:0][:0][:0][:(!]
    Well, it is going to happen with our parent company.
    MeritCare Health services clinic and hospital based out of Fargo, ND, with satellite sites of which we are one of in MN, is going to be outsourcing transcription to India. It doesn't effect me directly, but a lot of people I know and work around will be out of a job. And some my transcription will also be going there. We give our money away to be cheap. Not only is it cheaper to have them do it, but they don't have to pay employee benefits. Sad!!!![xx(][:(][:(!]

    Most of the large hospitals have been 'out sourcing' x-rays via satlink to India to be read there. Our daytime is their night time. Provides 'next morning service.'

    ... been going on for years.

    Yes that is a strange on on the xrays. When I was in the medical field, 15 years ago, radiologists were the highest paid of all the docs. That always seemed strange to me, all they did was work CT machines and read xrays.
    Priced themselves out of a job, I guess. Who could have foreseen the technology to send the xrays to Dr. Vindaloo over in Bombay and get them read for a fraction of the cost. Amazing.
