I got tired of watching Steve Zahn do a bad impersonation of Robert Duval and decided to see what was going on here tonight. Anybody else not impressed by this piece of crap?

Buffalo Hump sure spoke Huron real well. The kid playing Newt didn't play the part as well as Ricky did. Was the actor playing Blue Duck the same guy that played Uncas in "Last of the Mohicans"?. I've only seen Wes Studi in two movies and both times he killed by Injun's. Overall I thought the movie was lacking in spirit, direction, editing, and acting. Been waiting all winter for this and was dissapointed. 0 -
The second episode was the best, this one tied with the first episode as a boring soap opera.

I watched a bit, but I have to agree ... it is getting boring. I did notice last night a couple carbines (probably Henry's) everything else is cap locks which would be OK, except they never seem to have to reload! [:)] 0 -

I watched the first episode and was not impressed. I thought the writing was terrible. Not only terrible, but had little thought as to accuracy. They really lost me when the rangers were leaving Austin for New Mexico to find Val Kilmer and said they would be back in a WEEK!!!. Now, that's really moving on horseback - Austin to New Mexico and back in a week, in a time when 20 - 30 miles a day horseback was really moving!! 0 -

I think Blue Duck was in Flags Of Our Fathers and is in one of the Law and Order shows now. I had not watched any of the other series and was truly disapointed in this one. I thought maybe if I had seen the others I would know better what was going on. The ending was terrible from my perspective.0 -
HavegunJoe- If you haven't seen Lonesome Dove go rent/buy it. I thought it was really good. Anytime it's on cable I'm watching it. It's no where in the same ballpark as Comanche Moon. 0 -

Thought Blue Duck was also in Shooter-a much better movie. I tried watching this western as I really love them but it was soooo boring. So in its place i popped in Big Jake[:D] 0 -
there is no replacing robert duvall imho. an actor in his own class, i watched it all, disappointed , in a word 0 -
I didn't think it was all that bad. I have read the book and I could see where it would be difficult to make a movie of it and keep it interesting. The guy who was Capt. Call did a respectable job. Val Kilmer was brilliant and the lady who played Mrs. Skull was good.
I'd give it a B- to Lonesome Doves' A+++.0 -
Very politically correct for a western, not really a lot of shooting, and they can't show a heck of a spear throw hitting home on a buffalo. a piece of crap.
Val Kilmer (Captain Skull) was the only one I found remotely interesting.
The whole attacking parrot thing would not have worked on Clint!0 -

Having watched this show, and having seen the sunbaked red and yellow rocks, and the expanse of sunbaked sand and cactus of the Texas desert, and the parched, dry, brown and almost lifeless Texas prarie, with not a tree in sight, I find myself asking the same question I have asked after having driven across the State of Texas on six occasions:
"Why do human beings inhabit the State of Texas?"0
