Gun Safety Cable Locks?

Has anyone found a good use for those damn cable locks that you get with every firearm you purchase? All the ones I have are just wasting space and collecting dust.

    I have taken a few to work to lock up my gas cart so that it dosen't grow legs...... in a few years my kid will have one two for her bike that she will ride to school.......

    i use them when i transport a firearm in my truck to the range or hunting area other than my house because i drive a truck and although i keep it in the cab its obvious. other than that i use one or two to lock a locker at work or every once in a while need a lock.

    otherwise no.

    Give them back to your favorite gun store. Since they are required by law to provide a lock with every gun that is sold it is a nice gesture on your part if you can give them your extra ones. Little things do make a good impression...and could lead your dealer into saving a special something for you....or even a better deal in the long run....(maybe.)

    I kind of figure that like original boxes, original locks might one day bring a premium. I keep them with the box. Actually, even keeping the box pisses me off. In general, the whole mess of stuff that you shouldn't do to a gun because it might be collectible pisses me off.

    The use of locks as targets is starting to look like a pretty alluring suggestion.

    Yup! I do keep all mine. They are stuffed away with all the matching paperwork in my firesafe, but I am getting sick of looking at them when I add another to the collection.
