    In Kalif. the Police Officer Bill Of Rights made this law even while I was still working. The specific officers personal record was still available to be reviewed "In Camera" (to only a judge for his review to see if any charge the defense brings up is warranted). This was done because defense attorneys were making police officer's personal records public. And endangering the families of police officer.

    I don't agree that this "hides" police misconduct. If an officer has a bad record there is a "negligent retention" civil process. Most police departments will not retain someone that gets into trouble more than a couple of times.
