Watch the whole video. This may have been discussed before, but I have not seen it on here. Long story short, LEO's basically outnumber this guy exponentially, and kill their own K9 as the poor dog tries to attack the suspect. BTW, the suspect is unarmed. 81 Shots fired. Conclude yourself.

I am glad he is off the streets but, it sucks that the dog died from friendly fire....

    I don't understand the mentality of sending a police dog against an armed suspect, or one that is suspected to be armed. These dogs cost thousands and thousands of dollars to be trained! To send a dog against a man with a gun is just plain stupid. There are so many other options availble to police now. ( I did not watch the video as I don't want to see a dog getting hurt or killed)

    What the hell was that? 81 shots in 3 seconds without any regaurd to the police dog in the line of fire. I would have been handing out walking papers like playing cards the next day. What a bunch of idiots.[V][V][V][V][V][V]

    The guy never displayed the gun (during the video), but kept saying he had one, and his arm is stuffed in his clothing. The dog got released and as just as it approachs the guy very quickly raises his arm straight ahead and then throws the gun all in one motion. It looked like he was raising to take aim, and he took a hail of bullets. At least the dog did not suffer, it was over in an instant.

    BTW, it sure as hell didn't look anywhere near 80 rounds to me, more like around 30.

    I watched it. Guy got what he deserved.

    Having said this the police appeared to be very undisciplined and disorganized, and shot the poop out of everything even after the suspect AND dog were down and out.

    I watched that part 3 times and thought it was a gun. I wonder if it would have looked more like a flip flop if I was there and he said he had a gun?

    BTW, did you find the rest of the story somewhere, where'd you see it was a flip-flop?

    It is unwrittin LAPD policy that:
    1) If you are going to fire your gun, you keep pulling the trigger till it stops going BANG and starts making a clicking noise.
    2) If a fellow officer starts shooting, you also must shoot till your gun stops going BANG and starts making a clicking noise.

    ASPCA needs to shut down their K9 division! That's just wrong! Would they have killed a human officer just as quick? Maybe the K9 people need to refuse to work with officers that aren't trained to work with canine resources!
    Sounded like a chain reaction to me. Just takes one idiot to start! (and a few more idiots to complete)

    Did I hear someone holler "stop firing you damn fools"? Probably the K9 officer.

    After the shooting stops I think it's the K-9 guy that's calling the other cops jerks (not the word he used) and you can tell he's very upset.
