It is a mature doe Californian.

Now to locate a couple more does and a buck and I'll be under way for my rabbit breeding![:D]

    My kids allready know that I intend on killing the young ones at butcher weight.

    And they know me well enuff that if I say that is what I am going to do that I will do it.

    The ones I keep for breeding are the ones that they can get attached too if they want. But the others are going to be eaten!

    Once I get plenty in the freezer I allready have a pet store that will take some and the rest will go to the livestock auction.

    I also plan on tanning hides of the ones that I kill off.

    Alright I'll take your word for it Kevin. But those little bunnies are pretty darn cute ya know. Might be kinda hard to butcher 'em and cook 'em up.[;)]

    Do you know what the butcher weight is for rabbits?? How are your cages to be set up? what type of water system are you going to use? What type of Feeders are you going to use? Do you have nest boxes already made? What sizes and of what type wire are your cages made of? Have you got the proper antibiotics ready? Do you know how to take care of malclusions? More to raising good meat rabits than just throwing two together.. Do you know which rabbit to move to get them to breed, do you move the male or the female? Do you know how to hold the Female (so the male can breed her)if she doesnt want to breed with the male? Just a few questions I would think one would know the answers to if they were going to breed rabits..[:D]

    IAs you can see I have been looking into this a little. My nieghbor who will help me as I need it has been raiseing many different types of animals for many years. He is also going to be getting more rabbits himself.

    I am far from knowing all the answers but I do have ways of getting the answers that I do not know.[;)]
