Colorado Springs Area (pic heavy)

I have been here since Saturday for work. Today I actually got to spend the afternoon checking out a few things. I tried to drive up to Pikes Peak. Maybe 300 ft up the road I figured out my rental car wasn't up for the task. I drove into the mountains and through them for a little while, and then back down, and through the "Garden of The Gods". It is an amazing place. These pics were taken with a disposable camera.

They do not do justice to the natural beauty of the area.

    Just a bit of trivia on Garden of the Gods - Until just recently, it (and Kissing Camels Resort) were privately owned by Ms. Margret Hunt Hill (H.L. Hunt's eldest daughter)....

    Ms. Hill passed away a few months ago.

    Been there many times. Love Colorado. There are many other wonderful places besides Colorado Springs, although it is great. The area around Estes Park and the Rocky Mountain National Park is definitely worth a visit.

    Your pics are a nice reminder.

    While your in the Springs, try to visit the Cave of the Winds too.
    If you make it to the Royal Gorge,
    there is a helicopter ride through it, that is
    .........well.........we liked it.

    We take the bike on the peak to peak highway to Estes Park for lunch sometimes.
    Weather permitting.
    Never get tired of that one either.
