Prayers and Good Wishes Needed / Update2
This is the first time I have ever felt the need to ask for this here, but an hour ago I received a call from my mother.
An old friend of hers that is about 68, has been going through an extremely bad time with V-fib,......which is a VERY dangerous rapid heart rhythm that often causes blood clots to be thrown.
They have tried her on multiple meds, but none worked.
She went through what they call a "cardiac ablation" which is meant to shut down the electrical stimuli from the region of the heart causing it. It is a 50/50 procedure at best for many. The first was done about a month ago.
She went in Wednesday for the second one, as nothing had changed.
Last night she had a call from her sister after going home, and she suddenly could not remember the names of her sons,......911 was called, and she is in ICU.
We are awaiting results of brain scans but they suspect bleeding in the brain, and she is not doing well at all.
She lives alone in S. Florida, about a 4 hour trip from here, and needless to say her sons are less than desirable when it comes to support. They were not there for the procedures, or to even stay with her for a night or two.
Sorry for the long story, but I am so angry at them right now,......and she is such a good woman.
Please,......any prayers, and yes, good wishes too, will be gratefully accepted!
I wiped out the former update to keep it short.
She is doing well so far,......her memory is largely back, and she is walking slowly. She still loses her train of thought at times, but I do the same at my age![:D]
The good part is the son in Orlando has really stepped up, and taken responsibility. The doctors think she will need 4 to 5 months to be back to normal, so the challenge now is keeping her house, and her supplemental Medicare insurance plus the obvious necessities.
She was working in home health care for an agency, and has received her last check. They will take her back as soon as she is able, if that happens.
The "bad" son did his usual,.....acted like a self interested jerk, and left after 2 days, saying he wasn't needed. Just an excuse to ignore the situation.
Her younger son is going to try and cover her mortgage, and other bills along with some other relatives.
My mother and I are going to pay for her supplemental Medicare insurance policy for the next 5 months.
All is looking good at this point,.......and I DO appreciate the prayers and good wishes.

Probably small strokes ... my mother suffered from V-fib ... sometimes quite erratic.
Eventually, it proved fatal for her, at 82. Hope she gets better.0 -

My own Father had that same procedure for his A Fib.
In his case it was not successful.0 -
