Ruger Blackhawk
Picked up a Ruger Blackhawk Convertible (.357/9mm) BN-34XL at my local dealer's shop. Marked as used, but doen not appear to have been fired much at all. no line on the 9mm cylinder, and only a faint, and i mean very faint line on the .357/.38 cylinder. box/papers/platic/lock. $350 out the door. I thought it was a pretty good deal, especially since i have been waiting one of these for a while. The only thing is, it has the black plastic grips. Not that big of a deal, but i would like to find a set of Ruger factory rosewoods for it. Anybody got any leads?

Go online - Ebay - there are also a lot of custom hardwood craftsmen out there who make some pretty spiffy grips for just about anything!
... and you got a pretty nice deal for a convertible.

I have an older blued blackhawk that came with walnut grips and a vaquero with rosewoods--took them off and put on a set of Hogue rosewoods on the Blackhawk and it sure stands out more than the factory rosewoods-the vaquero got a set of polymer ivory. I know you want rosewoods but I cannot find the pair I had anywhere or i'd just give them to you--I would be more than happy to send you the walnut pair for free but they are meant for a pre '73 Blackhawk and might not fit your frame. I have the rosewoods from my 41 blackhawk. Since it isn't a super blackhawk they should work. I would take either the plastic or the walnuts for trade for them, if they are Ruger marked. With the earlier posts it seems that you have it worked out but if not drop me a E-mail. 0 -

Wow if 350 is a good price I guess I stole the one I picked up at a household auction this past summer, $151.00 100% never loaded either cylnder with case no box, out the door, also picked up a Iver Johnson 38(very early 1900s piece) a little rough $35, and finally a taurus 22lr with a 6in bar. $95. almost new very light line around cylnder. I never really thought to much about it but it must have been a very good day. 0 -
Add me to the list of possible grip donors. Seems like there are more variations than I knew about as what I have never seem to match what I get. If you don't find something I suggest that you trace the outline of the grips and send them to me (or anyone else) to be sure of a reasonable fit.
