Driving into the store this morning I am soooo excited (like back when I was in elementary school)......snow!!!!!
We never get snow, so I am happy to see the pretty stuff coming down.

We are part of the same snowstorm.
Up here in the NC mountains we are supposed to be on the edge of this storm, and only get an inch.
It just started snowing a half hour ago.
I have the wood stove cranked up, I hope they are wrong and we get a lot more.0 -
It snowed here in '70, but it only stuck to cars.about 1/2".It was enough to make a snowball, but you had to scrape an entire BUICK hood..[^] 0 -
We had about 5 inches day before yesterday and there calling for 3-5 more. I thought it had quit snowing in southwest Va. When I was a boy it got cold in Oct. and usually snowed in Nov. and snow layed on the ground until about March. But we have really had a climate change, it seems good to have snow. My only problem with it is people have forgotten how to drive in it. 0 -
It is snowing here now. We have about 1/2" on the ground already, but it doesn't look like it is going to stop anytime soon.

Actually, they didn't forget, because they never learned. Before 1970, it was really unusual to see a 4x4 around here. Everyone had those big rear wheel drive Oldsmobuicks and Fords. Our dads taught us to drive in the snow and how to put chains on.

Reminds me of a few years ago I drove up to South Dakota to visit my buddy. Temp was -22. My car wouldn't crank.
We drove over to the auto parts place, the guy said, "You have that thick Georgia oil, no good up here."
He sold us an electric dipstick heater. I had never heard of such a thing.
Plugged it in the outlet and put it in the dipstick tube overnight, the car cranked right up.
That cold weather has got to be murder on a car.0 -

its not to bad , just make sure you run light oil in the winter , have a good block heater on them , good battery really helps ,
keep fuel conditioner in the diesel and gas line deicer for the cars ect. , like every thing else in life you learn to deal with it, its only for a few months / years , at least we don't get that 100+ crap in the summer0 -

snow birds need to come north for the winter these days dont get much snow up here anymore.....global warming very seldom get below zero also used to be normal to get 20-30+ below in Jan in the old days...
have had only a few dustings of snow since 2001
was -12 this morning but no snow cover so it warms back up and 8 deg above now.... alot better than it could be.0
