forum moderation elsewhere
I found a forum specifc to a particular firearm and it's variations. I posted a thread there titled "Reassembly totally sucked"
I got warned about inappropriate language!
All ya'll that are unhappy with Saxon Pig just be glad he doesn't have the same stick u no where that the mod on that other forum does.

Anyone who complains about the rules being too strict here is invited to go join thehighroad.org and smith-wessonforum.com as both are interesting and informative and will also give you a new perspective of strict moderating.
On THR no politics PERIOD. Not even a candidate endorsement in your signature. Also no discussion that is not gun related. NONE. Any name-calling or insults towards another member and you are instantly GONE. I argued with a member in private messaging and was warned about a descriptive term I used. Almost the same on the S-W forum and several others I have visited.
GB is very loosely governed compared to almost all other gun forums and some of the members at those other places often mention GB and how they avoid it because it's not moderated strictly enough.
It's all a matter of perspective.0 -

... and there are a TON of former members who are also 'elsewhere' for the same reason.
Seriously, I think the way new (perspective) members are ripped by our resident psychotics is the number one reason few stay more than 5 - 20 posts and many of those drop off in a week/month, or two.

All in all, the rules are irrelevant. What matter's is the type of people the owner of a forum wants around and the amount of traffic the owner desires through the forum. So S&W forum moderators are a bunch of annal retards. How much traffic do you think they get?
We have a much lower level of moderator here...for the most part. [:o)]
If moderators here want to stifle traffic, rule with a heavy hand. It's that simple.
If moderators want more traffic or a "different" kind of people hanging around here, bring on the porn!0 -
