For LEO's on the fourm, what type of duty ammunition do you carry? Handgun, long gun,shotgun???

    Does anyone have any info or experience with this ammunition? It seems like it is a good concept.

    Sometimes I hate to show my ignorance, but here goes. I bought some Sellier & Bellot practice ammo. It works fine but what's the red dye on the primers?

    I've never used them, but they sound like a good idea.

    I'll bet there not cheap though[V]

    Looks good, I'm sure they are high dollar.
    They said that the round eliminates fouling.?? What about copper fouling.

    The prices were about $20.00 a box. I do not think copper fouls as bad as lead does. It shoud be a cleaner round to use also.

    Twenty for a box of 20....seems like a good idea. I would not trust any ammo that did not feed at least 200 rounds will 100% reliability through the intended carry or house gun. But that's just me

    Coupla issues - fouling from melting of bullet base while in barrel will stop, as Copper melts at higher temp, and conducts heat better than Lead.

    Look at the pics from the site, the 185 gr bullet is HUGE! That is due to the difference in density of the metals - copper is less than 80% as heavy, volume for volume, so weight for weight, the copper bullet will be 25% larger.

    Too bad nobody makes DU bullets for Civilian use - it is more than twice as dense as Copper, and 50% more dense than Lead.

    Ive read that those who have on heavy clothing, that it may not penetrate their clothing, coats etc. So it should not be used by LEO's.

    Barnes is making those bullets for Taurus. Heating to the point of melting will not be a factor in pistol bullets since rifle bullets are under more heat loads.

    I've always been a fan of FMJs. I 've read more conviencing evidence of deep penetration having better take down than shallow bigger holes in the case of pistol rounds.

    It sure would be interesting to see some of those in varmint calibers, with SPBT config, and Moly...does anybody do that? In the lighter weights, lead bullets can't be made with BT cause the bearing area is too small to stabilize the bullet in the bore, but longer Copper bullet would!
