Gun shopping rant
I was hoping to suprise my wife for our anniversary. So I call this place today to make sure they have what I am looking for because they are about a 45 min drive and I dont have a lot of extra time. We have other stores closer to me, but they dont have much selection. They assured me they have it in stock and give me a price, so I head up there ready to spend my hard earned money. I go in and they are busy. The only guy that could help me was new so I had to explain to him the model I was after and he tried to hand me everything but that. Finaly the boss gets a break and asks what I am looking for and looks it up. He doesnt have any[:(!]. He explains that he will have some ariving at 4pm and I am welcome to return[:(!][:(!]. I guess I am being petty, but customer service today sucked at a shop that was recomended[V]. Should I bother going back?

Did you get the name of the person you spoke to? If you did, tell the manager about what happened, and see if he/she will offer to make it up to you in some way....
But by all means tell the manager/owner or both what happened and tell them you wont be back and word of mouth advertising, especially on a holiday, can hinder or help sales...0 -
The last guy I talked to was the owner and was too busy to answer the rest of my questions. 0 -
I should have said the person on the phone who told you the item was in stock and price....If you have the name of the person, it helps when you talk to the manager and you can also confront the person who told you it was there... 0 -
No, I didn't get the name. I wish I had now, because I would have said "well so&so said you have them mabee he can find it." Anyway next time I will. Thanks for letting me vent. It's nice to hear a voice of reason when your in a foul mood. 0 -

That right there would be reason enough for me to never return to his store. I never understand how anyone can treat a customer poorly
and expect to stay in business.0 -
I don't think it's being petty. It's not just gun shops. It's almost every retail store I can think of. I don't know what they think they have to gain by making potential customers angry, but that seems to be standard procedure everywhere.
I not only wouldn't go back, I'd make sure the owners knows why I wouldn't be back.0 -
DOnt go back there ! Customer service has gone away in this country. They dont deserve your business. 0 -
The guy who answered the phone probably used to work for a car dealership. They're trained to tell the customer they have a certain model in stock just to make the customer come into the dealership. Then, when the customer arrives, they say they were "mistaken" and try to switch the customer into something they have in stock. 0 -
I never tell them that I won't be back. Do that and they have no incentive to please you.
I'd ask what they are going to do for me to make it right.

Tells me all I need to know about that place. I would never return.0 -
Not their fault they were busy. But it is their fault they didn't make it up to you. 0
