I like my Stainless Mini-14 and my 10/22 clone (maybe two or tree Ruger factory parts in the whole rifle) but i will never own their hand guns. Ugly, clunky and heavy (all them words will fit in the issues the handguns have[:D]).
As for Smith & Wesson, I'll buy the pre-Clinton selling out years. I'll never own the preinstalled locking ones. As for the S&W 1076 (fits my hand perfectly) and the 610 (for the ability to shoot .40S&W and 10mm[;)]). Love to get me a S&W 649.0 -

and thats exactly why they should have stopped at revolvers, and rifles, semi auto handguns are not their strong point at all0 -
I agree with cce1302 he is obviously a deserning individual. I had a Ruger P85 and after changing out the springs (basically making it feel like a P89) it was pretty nice. Probably the toughest semi auto I have ever owned. Ruger has final inspection and final polishing issues but they still make good tough guns. Now Taurus on the other hand.[}:)] 0 -

Actually they started with a semi-auto. The entire Sturm Ruger company was built on the original MKI semi-auto .22 pistol. Everything else came later.0 -
The first gun I bought my wife, (then girlfriend) was a SS w/grey wood stock Ruger 10/22. She loves the thing.
My dad's got a blackhawk .357, P89 and a P97 and I just picked up my new blackhawk .45LC thirty minutes ago.
I guess we like them. They're practically part of the family now. [:D]0 -
I never thought about owning a 9mm before last week. I won an auction as most of you know if you have read any of my post's. I must say that I never have liked the look of the P series and therfore never even picked one up. But, I was pleasantly surprised at the weapon. Good feel, nice action, no problem with magazine release and reloading at all. It straight and true. I put 200 rounds downrange without a hickup, slow action or brass in the face. I will state though that the trigger is not exactly what I would like. It had allot of slack in it on double action mode. But the weapon was brand new too and of course I only shot it double action less than 5 times. I think the next time out I'll concentrate on working that double action and see if this tightens up at all. But overall guy's, I was extremely pleased with it. 0 -

I think guns are alot like cars we buy---lots of us drive chevy-some ford-some dodge-some jeep-japanese etc. and we all have our preferences due to problems we have had with cars and guns --makes me wonder if we can find out what day our guns were made and don't buy monday and friday ones lol 0 -
Not a real Ruger fan, even though I own a half dozen or so...With the exception of the MK I-III, I dislike their Semi-Autos. I really like the 10/22 (three of them in the safe) and the Mini-14 is a fun gun.
Their revolvers are built like tanks but the triggers are creepy, and usually heavy right out of the box.0 -
