Can you build a AR rifle with a AR pistol lower? It's an actual pistol lower is even mark such, but I don't want it as a pistol. It's a pistol now with a 7 inch barrel. I want a 16 in upper and stock.

Also whats the secert to taking off a full stock. I have the stock off, but can't get the buffer tube off. Is it just plain muscle to remove it or is there a secret?

    Thanks

We put EOTech sights on our department rifles, Bushmaster Patrolman's Carbine A3. Also added the fold down rear sight. Well, we were sighting in our rifles the other day with the flip down sights. When adjusting the elevation with the front post, we had to raise the post, counterclockwise, so much that it no longer locks into place. Has anyone else had this problem when using the flip down sight? Do they make an extended base front replacement post? Out of 6 rifles, 4 have this problem.

Tank: So what do you need? Besides a miracle.
    Neo: Guns. Lots of guns.

Bring it to WA and I can fix it.

Did you take the buffer and spring out of the buffer tube yet?
If not that would be the next step and ththe buffer tube will thread right out.
Sometimes the buffer retainer will be interfering but not usually.

Are you talking about the Carbon15 pistol in your porn pic?

I have the spring and buffer out. Just the tube is left, but that thing won't give it up. I've afraid to turn too hard, because I didn't know it that's how it even comes apart.
So your saying I need more muscle?

    Yes.

I may be incorrect, but I think once the lower is a pistol, there's no turning it into a rifle legally. Not allowed to turn a rifle into a pistol either.
    NFA experts???

You can make a rifle out of a pistol lower, But not the other way around.

Do not waste that carbon 15 pistol by making a rifle. Buy a new stripped receiver to build the rifle. Just me two cents.[:D]

Stag stripped receivers are about 110, the lower parts kit is about 60 so for 170 or so dollars you can have a new rifle lower.

I hate to throw a wet blanket on your project but you are taking an 900.00 pistol, adding 400.00 upper to make it a 700.00 rifle.

I would leave the Bushy Carbon the way it is and build a new rifle from scratch.
You can build a 700.00 light weight rifle for about 550.00

Good points about the pistol rifle. My idea was to take a Colt light weight sporter and use the Carbon lower and make a really light rilfe. I think I'll just leave them both alone.

But about the stock. I'm I just not turning it hard enough?

    I have a better idea.
I will trade you an Brand New unfired AR15 for that pistol[8D]

Just kidding mods. It was for illustration purposes only.

you will need a stock removal wrench.
    Wrench

the buffer tube is threaded into the receiver. there is a locking ring threaded onto the tube. In order to remove the stock you will need to find a way to turn that locking ring.

Yep, build your own AR. I spent 550 to build my M4 style AR. Ill end up spending a little more on my one with a fixed stock. Im looking at 450-500 dollar uppers. Unless i can find a complete 20 inch upper, any brand will do, flat topper for close to 350, but there arent any for that price.

Are you talking about a spanner wrench. I have one, but this is the full stock. I don't see a lock nut any where on it.

I have had the Carbon type 97 rifles and I never really took the buffer tube off.
I think they are different from the normal AR tubes.
    I honestly don't know.

I can direct you to a 20" complete upper suburbannoize.

It's not the Carbon I'm trying to take the stock off right now.
It's a colt with a full stock. I want a collapsable, but can't get the old stock off. The stock is off and the spring and buffer is out, but the tube is still on. That's what I want to get off.

It has been a long time (5yr??) since I removed mine and replaced it with a collapsible. Honestly I can't remember. [:I]

I do remember it wasn't hard to take off.

    Ok CGR
on that one then there is no lock nut. The lock nuts are on the collapsable stocks.

For the fixed style buffer tubes it will have flats on the end for a wrench.
99% of the time you can break it loose with just the wrench lefty loosey.
I have receiver blocks I clamp the receiver tight in a vise with for the stubborn ones.

have you removed the butt pad/plate??

Again I am trying to remember how i got mine off. (it was a RRA A2 full length) I remember the key was getting the plastic off to get to the end of the buffer tube. I believe the stock itself simply slides over the buffer tube. and is attached to the end of the buffer tube with one screw/bolt. once that is off the rectangular shape hole in the spanner wrench fits the end of the buffer tube. you could use a good crescent wrench if not the spanner wrench.

I remember the buffer tube itself to be a real bear, it took too of us one on the gun the other on the wrench turning in opps directions

I've came to this conclusion. I need man muscles. I guess I will just have to keep my fix stock. I can't move it at all.[V]

Hate to rain on your parade, but i think if you add a stock to that pistol lower it becomes a NFA weapon.

I knew that MT. What I was trying to do was put a collapseable stock and a 16 inch car colt light weight upper. After seeing Locust's 1911 upper she has for a 1911 pistol lower. I sure it's legal, cut changed my mind.

Now I was trying to put a collapseable stock in place of a fis stock.

I finally got it, but it took some serious torque.

It only becomes an NFA weapon (SBR) if you have less then a 16" bbl too. As long as you have a 16" + bbl you can add a stock to the pistol lower with out legal problems.

There are plenty of pistol to rifle conversions out there for the 1911 pistol. Heck LF has one up for auction right now!

Now what's this about CGR and porn pics?[:p][:p][:p][:p]
