GOING TO A LOCAL AUCTION TONIGHT
found some guns up for auction tonight thought local thought i would try to snag a deal or two, (LOL)
What do you think?
marlin camp 9 mm mod 9 about 75%
marlin 795 22lr 98%
3 Winchester 62A 95-98%
browning BL22 98%
browning (dont know the mod) it is the little 22 that loads in the side of the stock.95%
rem bolt action 540XR target 22 95%
lake field 22 75%
chipmonk 22 bolt action 45%
owner said he had a pickup load of ammo not in the auction, will get with me later on what he wants for it.
What do you think?

I think its worth going. the ammo could be the best prize. thats a browning auto-22 that loads thru the stock. Hope for bad weather and maybe you can steal somthing. 0 -

weather is to be bad here tonight, also noticed they only had about 25 chairs to set in, it a small auction place.
there r other goody items there also, zeiss binoculars, old mil night vision, 60x spotting scopes,the guys dad was a big time big game hunter . thanks for the info on the 220 -

I like to sell old junk guns at the local auction because the people seem to have the attitude "I want it and I aint gonna let no one else get it" and they pay double what they are really worth.
I would not try to by one though. I have in 20 years of being in the Auction business only ones baught a couple guns at a bargain price at a local auction.. Dummies dont know when to keep their hands down..[:0]0 -

i have seen this also, things sell local for way more then you could get it for here .
even with all the extra cost. (shipping ,ffl cost ,background checks.)there are 2 or 3 i might go after, my thought is to resell them but i know i will just keep them, i never make any $$$ on gun sells [:(].

I've actually had some good luck at estate auctions. The last one I went to about 6 years ago I got away with a Colt Anaconda for 450.00 with box and papers 98%. A friend of mine stopped at a garage sale last year with his wife and walked away with an Iver Johnson Model X for 20.00 in very good condition. It never hurts to try....Bull

That Marlin Camp 9 would make a nice addition. Even in 75% condition. 0 -
I own a 540x Remington target gun . The 540xr was the later version but still pretty rare. They are excellent target pieces. This is the bargain gun cause most people will overlook it and not pay that much for a single shot. 0 -

THE 540 AND THE CAMP 9 WERE 2 I WAS AFTER, along with one of the winchesters or browning.[:p] i like the single shot target 22 im useing a BSA CENTURY now, cheep and slow.0 -
You are right about paying much higher prices at a local auction. i was just at one where a 40% Winchester model 12 20 ga. with a poly choke went for 625.00. I just consigned 5 guns and a bunch of ammo and related gun stuff to a local auction. It will sell on Monday night. 0
