    I remember as a kid hearing them quite a bit, but I think the Feds put the kabosh on that in the early 70's.

    I'm actually suprised to see the first photo. That guy had to be absolutely smokin' to boom a Hornet at a low altitude while the thing was configured dirty.

    Those images are good examples of what is known as "Flat plate aerodynamics".

    Do you have any industry affiliation or do you just like manly things like sonic booms?

    That was just for heavily populated areas. Now they all come
    here play...almost daily.[V]
