I agree with you 100%, this money if you spend it try to buy something that will help us the most buy T-notes, its like giving the money back into the econmy. Every one should consider starting to rethink buy American. we need to keep it here.

Come on, hand over some more money to the Chinese. Hell, we've already given them over a trillion dollars in exchange for containers loaded with worthless trinkets bound for Walmart or various 99 cent stores. With that money they are expanding their own economy and they can now afford to buy up as much crude oil as they please. They don't give a damn about $100 per barrel crude, they have deep pockets thanks to us. 0 -

You have part of it. The bottom line is, trade with China/Asia as a whole is a double edge sword. We prop up the Asian market when it falls and Visa versa. Oil right now is also a key player. The mix is so expansive you could call it a "Game of chicken" with money that will lead to "who is going to break who at the moment"

The unfortunate issue in the Buy American push is that for everyday items around the house and clothing, not much is made in America anymore. Taxes and other costs have forced companies to take their factories to other countries.
I have a hard time finding any clothing made in the USA. Hell, my uniforms for the military are sometimes made in a foreign country even.0 -

don't think the rebate check is a good idea to begin with. It's promoting more of a reliance on the government. Also, illegals are able to get this rebate too...do you think that money is coming back into the US economy or over to Mexico? The government should work on taking less of our money through taxes, let us invest it where we see fit and maybe there would not be a need for such a rebate??? 0 -
There is never a "need" to let the govt make you more dependant on them. Only a selfish childish desire to have something the "easy" way in the "short term". It will cost everything in the "long term". Lazy, fat, blissfully ignorant Americans, selling out our children's future for a few worthless dollars now. Sickening. As a side note.....
We're already going to borrow money from the Chinese in the form of future debt in order to put this non-stimulus money in the hands of people that won't have to pay off debt. No wealth is being created here. We're taking money from one pocket and putting it in another at one hell of an expense in the form of interest. America got greedy with debt which is one of the reasons why we're in this mess. Now our so-called "leaders" are exercising the same p*ss-poor judgement by doing the same stupid thing the greedy folks who got us into this mess did by borrowing from tomorrow to feel good today.
Wine and Circuses fellas. They want us to be drunk on our wine and distracted by our circuses so we don't notice what kind of enema they're going to give us in the process. This is pure populist election-year bullphoey. This kind of "rebate" garbage has been done in the past. It NEVER stimulates anything long-term.
The current market anticipates the expiration of the Bush tax cuts. That is built into the market indicies. The government needs to keep its worthless "rebate" and vote to make the tax cuts permanant. Then you'd see a turnaround in this mess.0
