I have just learned that the just passed House Stimulus package
intended to jump-start a sagging economy by giving citizens rebates,
also includes cash benefits for illegal aliens!

Yes, you read that right.

According to FOX News, the plan would benefit those illegal aliens
who qualify as "resident aliens" - meaning they have
spent a substantial amount of time in the U.S. and have not
yet been deported.

These so-called "resident aliens" also must have been assigned
an Individual Tax Identification Number.

What?

Assigning a tax number to an illegal alien in-effect legitimizes
their right to be in the U.S!

As Rep. Tom Tancredo said to FOX News, the bill will certainly
stimulate "more illegal immigration."

Once again this is a slap in the face to citizen taxpayers,
and I'm calling on you to take immediate action with me by calling
your Senators and demanding rebates to illegal aliens be dropped
from this bill.

This bill easily passed through the House (385-35), and it is my hope
that our Grassfire team will be able to restore some sense and sensibility as this bill progresses through the Senate.

But don't delay. Call and express your outrage today.

    yes. but he isnt running for re-election. the people who ARE running agree with him and that is why you shouldnt vote for them.

    as for them paying taxes their still illegal and take the refund and put into the American Taxpayers pot to pay the bill for the Social cost of illegals. Illegal is illegal and it would help pay down the 89 Billion a year social cost WE pay for.

    The term resident alien describes people living in the U.S. legally (see link). An illegal alien cannot be a resident alien. This is not to say that some have not worked the system, but the intent of the package is to exclude illegals.

    But, thanks to Mr. Bush----he chose not to include "us" that are drawing Social Security. Only the Democrats in the Senate are trying to include us. I voted for that idiot (Bush) twice

    Fox News just reported that a loophole in the bill allowed for illegals to get the rebates, and that they will attempt to close it come tomorrow.

    Hey guys there is a big difference between resident aliens, and illegal aliens.
    Resident aliens are people who are here legally, and working, or going to school, they have SS number and pay every tax that you pay, they just aren't American yet. When people come to this country they do not become citizens immediatly they go through a natuarlization process, where they learn to become citizens.
    Ilegal aliens, are people who are not paying taxes nor do they have SSn's.
    these people are not going to be getting any money from Uncle Sam.

    Many that are REAL citizens are being left out of this farce of a welfare payment.

    I would much prefer to see SS recipients that have payed taxes, and been citizens for 40 plus years, get the refund than "resident aliens".

    Marc...I understand alot of people have heart burn with the Resident Aliens getting this money.

    Personally I think that those drawing the Social Security should get this as well. Most of those people are on fixed incomes...I know my mom sure is.

    As to the Resident Aliens. I have three of them in my military unit. They have been in the US for greater than 8 years and are working through the system to become citizens. They pay their taxes just as I do...they took the same oath I did...they serve the people of this nation just as I do. They should get the money just as well.

    Now illegals...not only no...but HELL NO. But we all know somehow they will get it too.

    Marc I too worked for years (47) for a good part of that time I worked 2 jobs, I paid all my taxes, was a good citizen.
    Would I like for the federalies to cough over $600. Absolutely! but at this time they have elected to give a rebate to the people who payed taxes "last year". The only question I have for you is that if a person was in this country legally, working and paying taxes, why would you be against there recieving the rebate.
    We have men and women who are legal aliens here who are in the armed forces fighting in our war, if there good enough for that, shouldn't they get the rebate.
    I assume you too are getting SS so I know that you probably could use the money, and would use it for good reasons, as I would. But thats not what the discussion was. You stated that illegal aliens would be getting a rebate, they will not. You cannot be an illegal and resident alien at the same time.

    WASHINGTON - The $146 billion stimulus package intended to jolt the economy by giving taxpayers rebates up to $1,200 includes cash returns for illegal immigrants who pay taxes.

    Under the plan passed by the House, illegal immigrants who qualify as "resident aliens" and earned a minimum of $3,000 would be eligible for rebates of between $300-$600, FOX News has learned.
