HALFTIME SHOW

Obviously they had Tom's guitar volume turned TOTALY down. I have seen him live,5 times, and have never heard any sound from his guitar.
Is it possible that the man cannot play?[?]

    Don't know, but they sounded GREAT...he's not the lead guitarist anyway, right?

    No, he plays. Rhythm and bass in fact. They were well blended and you couldn't hear him separate from the other guitarist.

    Actually, I think the young woman did a decent job with the National Anthem...I prefer a brass band, but she did a good job IMHO.

    I have seen hin twice, yes he can play, but plays rhythm guitar and volume is down, but you can hear it if you listen hard enough. He's coming to KC in July, plan on seeing him then. Good music.

    that was traditional, she didn't do any showboating or anything outrageous

    I really think it was terrible. However, I can understand why anyone, say 45 or younger, might not think it a big deal to sing/play the national anthem with a new twist. I say this because, back in the mid-60s was when people started to experiment with how many new ways the piece could be sung or played, without singing or playing it the same way twice became vogue...and it has not stopped since.

    i disagree that she added any twist to the rendition. she may have held notes out longer than in the original score, but as far as the melody goes, she didn't stray from the notes.

    Kimi, I'm no kid, and I remember when TV and radio stations had to "sign off" (that's right kids, there was no 24hr TV or radio back in the day), and one of the best "sign offs" was the local ABC affilates, it was made by the USAF IIRC, but that was a long time ago.
    When POS like Rosanne Barr mock the Star Spangled Banner, they should have their ugly fat asses kicked into the turf.

    But this young woman did a nice job IMHO, and deserves respect for doing a tasteful job

    then you need to look up the original score, i believe that included something called lyrics. neither the of those bands included vocalists which would make jordan sparks' rendition the clear winner in this competition.

    Have you ever wondered why the cameras did not pan the crowd of 75,000 people in the stands? I can assure you that they were having a great deal of difficulty in singing along with her as she was not on key.
