    I've seen that video before and it's pretty remarkable.

    Perhaps the most durable aircraft I've seen was the A6 Intruder. I saw many of them come back from missions over Vietnam with large chunks missing from the wings and/or vertical and horizontal stabilizers and still make a successful carrier landing. A really tough airplane!

    the killer is the F-105 thunderchief, it came back, landed still had a sam stuck through the aircraft.

    They don't have a kill ratio - you cant divide by zero :-)

    They have NEVER lost in air to air combat.

    In "simulated" combat a pair of F-22's was able to beat something like 15 F-15's.

    Don't know if its the pilots of the F-15s, the engineers who designed and built it, or the commanders who determined when and how to use them in conjunction with whatever, but the F-15 rocks.

    but now we have a big problem, the airframes are coming up on 40 plus yrs, the last F-15 came down with the forward fuselage broke.
    we need the F-22 to come on fast, quite a few F-15's wont be flying anymore, stress cracks. the pilot was very lucky that his ejection seat worked.

    A Marine pilot lost a wing on his Skyhawk in Hawaii, late 50s I think, and was able to keep it in the air until it got over Kialua, while a fellow pilot tried to put his wingtip under the broken-side to no avail. The doomed plane and pilot took out a couple of residential homes, sadly.
