A prayer request for Rusty - Update -

Some of you will remember my neighbor's son Rusty. He is now in his second year at the University of Alabama on a scholarship. His mom just came over and asked me to call him. He is thinking about withdrawing from classes due to some financial troubles so he can work and save up some money. The problem is, if he withdraws, he looses his scholarship, and she can't pay for school without it. His grades are good, and he needs to stick it out and finish.

Please send up a prayer that there is another solution to his problem. Depending on his need, Sandy and I can help him out with a small injection of cash on a grant basis so he wouldn't have to pay it back, but he will have to manage his finances going forward because I'll only do it once unless there was an unforeseen emergency arise.

He's a good kid with a great future if he will finish his education. I think he has bought a new (used) car and moved into an apartment with some other friends, and I think he is just over extended himself on his part time job income. I'll know more later tonight, but please say a prayer that we can find a way to work things out.

    I don't know. I'm thinking the car payment is what is hurting him, so I'll buy the loan and delay any payment until he finishes school with the promise that if he will finish with a GPA of 3.0 or better, I'll forgive the loan completely.

    I know he gave almost $8,000 for the car, but he also got some trade-in value for his old one, but I don't know how much. It should be less than $7,000 total.
